Business Issues Luncheon - September 12

The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce cordially invite you to participate in a regional business luncheon on Monday, September 12, 2005 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Wind Lea Banquet & Conference Center located at 777 Armstrong St. in Keyser.

West Virginia Chamber President, Steve Roberts and Mineral County Chamber President, Terry Stephens will be on hand to welcome you and provide an overview of key business issues: Workers' Compensation reform, insurance reform and business tax issues.

Among the items that will be covered during this meeting are:

An outline of the recent and upcoming changes related to the state Workers' Comp program, with special emphasis on the pending changes due to the creation of a mutual company on Jan. 1, 2006 and subsequent premium changes (anticipated to be an average reduction of 15 percent on Jan. 1, 2006).
A review of the recently enacted insurance reforms and a discussion about positive developments related to commercial insurance availability and affordability.
A discussion about West Virginia's business tax structure and state budget/finances.

This meeting is designed to discuss where we are as a state with these issues and what lies ahead for the future.

As a guest of the West Virginia Chamber and Mineral County Chamber, a complementary meal will be provided during the event.
